BAckwoods   Hunting

  Book your bait station early!  This year we are hunting both in the Orillia area and Bracebridge.
We are planning on having the bait sites active for Sept 24th so plan your hunt acordingly.  Later hunt dates can be arranged with your site manager/guide.  

Why have Backwoods manage your Bear bait?
Anyone who has operated a bait station for Bears knows it can be rewarding but it's alot of work!  We take the work out of your hunt and still allow you to observe and enjoy the entire hunt.  Preparation of your hunting site will start a full 4 weeks ahead of your planned hunt.   Once you have booked your bait site you will receive regular updates on its progress and have access to trailcam postings on our website. Click here to see a bait site from last year.  You will be able to follow the activity at your bait site right up until the day before your first sit.  All the way from scouting & locating the bears to getting them to come in at just the right time.  From the time of your arrival to the end of the season the site is yours to do with as you please.  Your station will be baited the day of your arrival and additional baiting can be arranged during the rest of your hunt or remainder of the season if desired.

Where to stay?
We can arrange several options for an extra fee.  Our guests hunting in the Bracebridge area can stay at in our prearranged campsite with Cabins, Yurts and tenting all at a discounted rates.  For those who prefer total comfort Bracebridge and Gravenhurst offer abundant accomidations.  That being said all of our hunts are on Crown Land so you can sleep with the Bears if you like....
We can also offer rental of our outfitters camp for a reasonable rate.
 The camp has a 8' X 16' army tent equipped 12V power, inverter, cotts, wood stove, camp kitchen, propane barbeque, table and chairs. The tent can be extended to 16' X 16' or 16' X 24' to accommodate more people if required.

How much does it cost?
Unlike the outfitters catering to international and non-resident hunters who charge thousands of dollars, the basic hunt discribed above is only $500!!
